International Students at SDUIS

We welcome students from all over the world to join us in any program we offer at our San Diego campus. The University is certified to issue student visas (F-1/I-20) to qualified students who can demonstrate their ability to succeed in college in the United States. In addition to the information required of all new students, International Students who wish to study in the United States should be aware of the following:

 

• Application process must be complete and all required documents must be in our possession before a visa can be issued
(you need a valid passport for your visa)

•Results of Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) test score must be submitted directly to SDUIS - minimum score 500.

•Declaration of Finances translated into English and US $.

•Official English translations of all international transcripts.

If you are planning to enroll as an International Student at SDUIS, please contact us at your earliest convenience to ensure smooth and proper processing of your paperwork. SDUIS offers the institutional TOEFL test on campus once a month. This test may be used to apply at SDUIS. Please contact the office to reserve a space.

UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS

Schedule: Classes are held on Saturdays from 9:00a.m. – 5:00p.m, or weeknights from 6:00pm-10:00.pm

Each class meets for 6 Saturdays or 12 evenings. You can take 3 classes per quarter and be considered a full time student.

You can also take CLASSES online.


Tuition: 
$390 per month for 48 months

36 courses (5 units each)

Total of 180 units

International students take 9 courses a year for full time status Can take one quarter off (continue to make payments) 

GRADUATE PROGRAMS

Schedule:

Classes are held on Saturdays from 9:00a.m. – 5:00p.m, or weeknights from 6:00pm-10:00.pm

Each class meets for 6 Saturdays or 12 evenings. You can take 2 classes per quarter and be considered a full time student.

You can also take CLASSES online.

Tuition: $400 per month for 21 months

14 courses (5 units each)

Total of 70 units

International students take 6 courses a year for full time status Can take one quarter off (continue to make payments)

 

OTHER FEES:

Application fee: $60

Registration fee: $175

Graduation fee: $200

 

Deadline for application: 

We have a year-round open registration that encourages potential students to begin their education without extended delays. You can submit your application for admission to SDUIS any time for the upcoming Quarter. Classes start in January, April, July and September. Upon receipt of your Application for Admissions, we begin a student file for you. As your admissions materials begin to arrive, your file is reviewed and you are notified of missing documents. Your application will be considered "conditional" until all required information is submitted. There is a one-time, non-refundable Application Fee that should be sent with the Application for Admission.

 

When Can I start taking classes?

International students are required to complete all admissions requirements prior to enrolling for classes if they are entering the US on a student visa.

The admissions process is complete when the SDUIS admissions office has received the following documents:

1.Statement of Educational Intent

2.Two Letters of Recommendation

3.Transcripts from previous schools attended

4.Signed Transferability of Units Form

5.Declaration of Finances Form (for international students only)

6.Signed Enrollment Agreement (to be signed after Final Admissions Interview)

7.Final Admissions Interview

 

Final Admissions Interview:

Upon receipt of all the above materials a Final Admissions Interview will be scheduled to review with you your materials and create your degree plan. For Distance Learning students the interview is conducted on the telephone. After the Final Admissions interview, you will be notified of your status. If you are accepted into the program you will be asked to sign the Student Enrollment Agreement. Registration Process for new students: You are eligible to register for classes as soon as we receive your Application for Admission and "Conditional Enrollment Agreement". The Registration form may be found on the last page of the Quarterly Schedule of Classes and on the SDUIS web site at http://www.sduis.edu/forms_reg.html The "Conditional Enrollment Agreement" can be mailed, faxed upon request or emailed. Deadline for registration for continuing students is posted on the quarterly schedule of classes. Payment is due at the time of registration for new students. Registration will not be processed without payment.
